Women give up sex ban after winning protest for new road link in south west Columbia
The male residents of a remote southwestern town in Columbia can smile again now that their women have given up a sex strike.
A large number of females living in Barbacoas decided to deny their partners a bit of loving until the local authorities agreed to build a road linking the town to the provincial capital of Pasto.
That was way back in June and, three long months later, abstinence is at an end now that work is finally beginning on the new road.
It may seem a trivial form of protest but there was a serious point behind their action. The new road will cut travel time by at least six hours for the town of 35,000 people.
