Pass on a Pie - Christmas campaign encourages us to be good neighbours
It's the season for giving - so here's a worthwhile scheme that encourages people to bake a pie and get closer to their neighbours.
Pass on a Pie is the brainchild of Alex Loughlin who's been working hard to boost encourage community relations through his Meet Your Street campaign.
"I'm encouraging people to Pass on a Pie to their neighbour this Christmas," Alex explained. "Getting involved is simple - just bake or buy a pie, knock on your neighbour's door, explain to them that you're taking part in Pass on a Pie and hand it over. Enjoy a Christmas conversation."
"If you're passing on a pie to your neighbour do make sure that pies are still in their unopened packaging, with clear storage details and expiry date. Everyone can take part but under 18's should always be accompanied by an adult when passing on a pie to a neighbour."
Participants can report back how it went on Alex's Twitter page, (@MeetYourStreet).
The initiative is part of Battlefront, an online/on-telly Channel 4 project starring a crew of 14-21-year-olds on a mission to change the world. With the help of experienced mentors and support from the Battlefront community, Battlefronters turn their issues into fully-fledged campaigns and set off on a journey to achieve something incredible.
