New Boyzone single Gave It All Away celebrates Stephen Gately

Boyzone say they will pay tribute to the memory of their former band mate Stephen Gately and look positively to the future by releasing a new single that features some of his last recorded vocals.

The song Gave It All Away, written by Mika, was one of the last tracks Stephen recorded before he unexpectedly died of natural causes, aged 33, at his Majorcan holiday home in October last year.

A statement on behalf of Boyzone said: "As they step forward after what was a heart-breaking and life-changing year for them, 2010 sees Boyzone at a new beginning; a new chapter in their ongoing journey and a celebration of all that was, and more importantly now, what is to come."

A scene in the video for the song sees the band sitting around a table where there is an empty chair and talking about Stephen below a photo of their friend.

Boyzone member Mikey Graham said today: "It's a very poignant landmark in the history of boyzone. We're filled with excitement and sadness, but we bravely embrace the future. We miss you Stephen."

Gave It All Away is due out on March 1st to be followed by a new album, Brother, on 8 March.
