It's always good to hear of people doing the decent thing, so a round of applause for the workers at a steel plant near Berlin who returned 100,000 euros they found in a safe that had been abandoned.

An employee at a German bank had apparently forgotten to remove the sum - around £90,150 in British money - before sending the safe to the scrapyard.

The slip-up happened when a branch office moved in December. Luckily, the cash is now back with its owners but you have to admire the honesty and good will of those who did their good deed.

Mistakes can happen to all of us, but imagine though how red-faced the bank employee must feel - let's hope they click on Optimist World and brighten their day!
