Good news for cancer - Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust recruits ten thousand more young men to its register
The Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust is celebrating 10,000 more young men joining its register. The organisation launched a dedicated campaign to boost the number of younger men on its books.
The success of its GET10K campaign means it can potentially help more people with blood cancer.
"Young men aged 18-30 are more likely to be chosen to donate," the Trust explains. "We've been overwhelmed by the response to our campaign. But we're always looking to recruit more. Our aim is to one day be able to provide a transplant for every person that needs one. So if you make a new friend who's young and male, tell him about us. It could save someone's life."
The Trust is also urging supporters to help raises vital funds. "It costs us £100 to recruit and add every donor to our register," it explains. "With more funds we can save more lives.
