Free Chlamydia kits for Glastonbury festival revellers

Revellers at this year's Glastonbury festival are to be offered free chlamydia kits, aimed at reducing the spread of the sexual infection.

The NHS in Somerset has revealed that festival-goers aged between 15 and 24 will be asked to visit a screening centre on the site. DIY urine kits will be offered at information points while the packs will include a glow-in-the-dark sperm key ring and condom.

Festival organiser Michael Eavis is reportedly backing the campaign, which aims to hit the widest audience.

"The chlamydia screening service wants to reach as many young people from Somerset as possible," NHS worker Sara Dove said. "To inform them of the risks to health from chlamydia and offer a DIY test results to those who may have exposed themselves to the risk of infection."
