lottery winner plans to grow better carrots
How refreshing to hear of the retired EuroMillions lottery winner who says he will spend part of his 25 million pound winnings hiring an expert to learn how to grow better carrots.
Not for Brian Caswell, sports cars and lavish properties it seems. The 73-year-old amateur gardener from Bolton, Greater Manchester is rather more preoccupied with his vegetable patch.
Mr Caswell said he had always struggled with carrots on the allotment he shares with his Joan, 71. "I've been trying to grow carrots ever since I've been on that allotment and I've never had any success," he said after his win. "What I'm going to do now is bring a professional in and say, 'Right, sort that out.'"
Two players shared the EuroMillions jackpot worth €58.8 million (around £50 million). And the Caswells decided to go public with the news of their huge win. "How could you keep that secret?" he said. "The answer is you can't."
A few of life's luxuries may have given the game away about Brian's success, but now onlookers will be keeping an eye out for carrots that are top of the range...
We hope that they read our article earlier in the week to chop the carrots AFTER cooking them so that the carrots' anti-cancer properties get a boost
