Commuting Joy

First day back from holiday and after an interesting journey on my way to a client's office in Twickenham I felt I truly deserved a nice cup of freshly grounded espresso and maybe even splash out on a high calorie pastry. After all, I needed to be eased back gently into the daily grind.

After ordering at Twickenham Station's Puccino's outlet i got my wallet out to pay for the goods only to discover the embarassing fact i only had some holiday Euros left but there was no stirling in sight.

Going slightly purple at this stage I stammered I would need to go out off the station, find a cashpoint and get cash out in order to pay as they dont accept cards. The friendly barrista looked slightly confused and smiled "why dont you just pay me next time you are in Twickenham?". When do you come across such amazing trust and service anywhere in a metropolitan area where you dont even know your neighbours anymore? It definitely was a great start to my day!!

Commuting in London - I find people are more likely to offer help when I'm struggling with my suitcase than any other cities!
