Vision Africa – Give a Child a Future - creating brighter futures for children in Kenya

Vision Africa is a UK based children's charity working with orphaned and destitute children in Kenya.
For many people, what they know of Kenya is luxury safaris to see "the Big 5", world-class athletes or children covered in flies, swollen bellies showing extreme malnourishment.
There is a whole other side to Kenya – a proud nation of people who want to get on in life and people who want to help others get out of the cycle of poverty. Vision Africa works with some of these people to try and improve the daily lives of children from a variety of disadvantaged backgrounds.
A number of our projects are based around the capital, Nairobi, in the slums of Kibera and Riruta. Other projects are in more rural settings where HIV/AIDS rates are often higher and where a high dependency on agriculture results in extreme poverty when the rains fail year after year.
By looking for long term solutions such as empowering and educating young girls or setting up income generating activities to allow projects to become more self-sufficient, we believe that we can create brighter futures for some of the most needy children in Kenya.
