Carbon Disclosure Project Italian business investment decisions by climate change
For a majority of Italian corporations climate change can influence and present an opportunity for business.
A new study released last week by not-for-profit organisation the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) addressing the implications of climate change on the investment decisions from Italian companies, where 93% of them said that this condition could present opportunities for business.
The report, in association with Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena and Kyoto Club, suggested that investors were already including climate change related-issues into their business decisions.
Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena and Kyoto Club chairman Giuseppe Mussari said, "the uncertainty about energy costs and stringent regulatory limits on CO2 emissions make it harder for companies to assess their own risks".
He also added that the right approach of the Bank is to assist businesses to better understand these risks and manage them proactively - with mutual advantage - providing loans and specific banking services.
