Pembrokeshire Fish Week Is A Plaice to Be This Summer

Thousands of seafood-lovers will be flocking to West Wales for the 10th birthday of Pembrokeshire Fish Week, between 27 June and 5 July.
The event celebrates the county’s fresh fish and shellfish plus its beautiful coast and beaches, clean seas, great angling, and fishing heritage.
Jam-packed with over 200 events for people of all ages, the festival is expected to attract approximately 20,000 people this year.
“Pembrokeshire Fish Week is a great chance to celebrate our truly outstanding seafood and breathtaking coastline,” said organizer Kate Morgan. “We’re really looking forward to making a big splash for our 10th birthday – it’s going to be huge!”
For food-lovers, there are gourmet seafood evenings, fresh mackerel barbecues at the county’s harbours, a crab lovers’ weekend, and much more.
Visitors will have the opportunity to combine a fresh lobster lunch with a riverboat trip, enjoy a sea fishing or kayaking trip and cook their own catch.
Those who enjoy cooking seafood can participate in the annual fish and shellfish Masterclass or one of the many other inspiring cookery demos and classes.
Outdoor enthusiasts can take part in various waterway, coastal and beach events, from guided kayak trips to beach activity and environmental days, and rambles on the picturesque Skomer Island.
For anglers and those who want to learn to fish, there are major coarse and sea angling competitions, coaching days for all ages and levels, several have-a-go-at-fishing days, and fishing for people with disabilities.
Children can enjoy crab catching, harbour fun days, beach exploration sessions, snorkel safaris, and seaside-inspired arts and craft activities.
