Good news - Dead man in India wakes up before autopsy

It will no doubt be viewed as a miracle by his loved ones – a man who was thought to have passed away following a motoring accident in India woke up on the autopsy table at the start of a post mortem.

Manas Deo was pronounced dead by medics after being struck by a vehicle near Baragadia village in Jajpur, India. It was Christmas Day when a doctor on duty at the hospital to which he had been taken, made his official declaration.

Imagine the shock for medical staff – one local newspaper reported: "It was a surprise for the hospital staff and family members." That may yet prove be the understatement of the year.

Medics say that Mr Deo, who is being treated in hospital, is expected to recover over the next few weeks.
