Girls build skills on outward bound course in Windermere
It's the kind of trip that can be life-changing – and will be remembered for many years to come.Ten teenage girls from Lancashire have returned from an outward bound course in Windermere, aimed at developing their team building skills.
"The trip to Tower Wood Outdoor Recreation Centre was a great success," said organiser Wayne Smith. "The girls had a brilliant time and really got stuck in to a range of action packed activities."
Hyndburn Homes, a housing association based in the Accrington area, organised the three day excursion. It included team building skills like building and sailing on a life raft as well as making the most of the great outdoors with activities such as pony trekking, abseiling, climbing and cave walks.
The girls aged, between 13 and 15, were nominated to attend by a variety of agencies including their schools. Hyndburn Homes has approximately 3,200 homes in management and is a major provider of social housing in the area.
