Arab-Israeli villagers aim attempt world record for largest hummus dish
You can't have too much of a good thing it seems - just ask the residents of an Arab-Israeli village near Jerusalem who have launched a bid to make the world's largest hummus dish.
Villagers in Abu Gosh are gearing up for the mammoth task, planning to use a whopping 4,000kg of chickpeas, sesame paste, olive oil, lemon juice and garlic in the hope of setting a new record.
The ingrediants could double the Guinness World Record set by chefs in Lebanon and as such it's created a little friendly rivalry.
Local restaurateur Jawadat Ibrahimad conceded that Lebanese hummus was very good. "Abu Gosh is the hummus capital of the world," he said.
Personally, I love hummus - I could eat it for breakfast, lunch and tea, it's gorgeous stuff. So good luck Abu Gosh and send some over to the UK...please!
