Travel industry sees the return of consumers’ confidence, says AITO study

The economic “green shoots” of recovery is not a rumour after all.

A recent study by AITO reveals encouraging results reflecting the return of British consumers’ confidence within the travel sector this year.

More good news, consumers also reported that responsible tourism is high on their list of priorities when booking a holiday, ahead even of customer service.

AITO has teamed up with Wanderlust magazine to conduct a consumer and trade survey amongst over 2,000 individuals and 50 tour operators in May 2009.

The results are in stark contrast to the UN World Tourism Organisation’s predictions of last November that predicted consumers’ reluctance to spend abroad or travel far from home.
